K-5 Math Implementation Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) supportsK-5 math curriculums instruction assessments and professional learning. This person is responsible for identifying and/or leading development of standards-aligned innovative math curriculum and assessments designing and leading professional development for teachers that focuses on strategies primarily inelementary math instruction supporting school leadership teams in improving instruction and increasing the level of technology integration. This position will support the districts strategic plan the Superintendents key performance indicators forK-5 math assessment and the KSD Learner Profile.

Qualifications Required:

1. Washington State Teachers Certificate appropriatefor elementaryeducation.

2. Current building leader and lead contributor todistrictinstructional initiatives (for example: PLCMTSS Student-Centered Coaching Inclusionary Practices AI).

3. Knowledge with planning and delivering instruction around several forms of assessments: universal formative summative required state assessments and how to interpret multiple types of data: academic behavior demographic and attendance.

4. Deep understanding of the Math SBA Blueprint as a tool to support instruction within Tier 1 practices.

5. Satisfactory evaluations.

Qualifications Preferred:

1. Experience in leading implementation of Clear Math across multiple grade levels and buildings

2. Evidence of exceptional skills in organization time management communication and working with groups of adult learners

taking initiative working collaboratively with others cross-curricularly and successful at self-direction and independent work

4. Successful experience working with a variety of students staff and administrators

ability to utilize technology to support and enhance instruction and learning including feedback with students (for example: AI and its many functions SeeSaw and Schoology)

experience working with Multilingual Learners (MLs) and integrating content and language within Tier 1 math instruction

to learn new concepts platforms strategies and methods as a continual learner

with and understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

9. Successful experience working with Special Education students within the Tier 1 classroom and providing supports utilitizing Inclusionary Practices

10. Innovative and solution based team approach

11. Experience with developing and presenting professional learning sessions focused on math implementation essential standards and standards align instructional units

Job Description:

1. Assists and directs grade level teams and buildings with developing instructional practices utilizing Clear Math anchored in the standards and incorporating a student centered approach to coaching.

2. Generates reports data sets (including WSIF data) and user metrics for directors principals instructional teams and teachers.

3. Guides and directs teachers teams and administrators in the use of high-quality assessments focused inmath to guide instruction: universal formative summative required state assessments.

4. Conducts whole staff professional learning activities focused on standards aligned instruction along with follow up modeling and support.

5. Participates in the school improvement process with district specialists the building administrator and teacher teams prioritizing OSSI or RAD identified schools.

6. Works with individual or small groups of teachers to develop practices in planning to standards looking at student data designing instruction with a MTSS tiered focus.

7. Provides instructional strategies and resources for teachers in all content areas.

8. Supports teachers in working with essential standards the adopted district curriculum and incorporating language development within content.

9. Provides instructional leadership in the area of K-5 math.

10. Serves as a district expert in District-adopted curriculum (Clear Math) forK-5 math.

11. Stay-up-to-date onK-5 math and AIeducationat the local state regional national and international levels.

12. Facilitator of the District Curriculum Advisory Committees related to K-5 content areas.

13. Provides direction for relevant professional development in math education and standards aligned instructionwith a connection to AI and technology.

14. Be innovative and committed to the challenge of change in education.

15. Maintains confidentiality.

16. Other duties as assigned including some Professional Learning during the summer based on need and specialist work.

Lifting:The employee must be able to lift or move up to 10 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 26 lbs; must also be able to lift overhead. The employee may be required to physically move quickly in an emergency or while performing student supervision duties.

Physical Hazards:While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to work outdoors in a wide variety of temperatures; from -10 degrees F to 100 degrees F . The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in this work environment is moderate.

Application Procedure: In-District staffmust complete an internal online application by10:00 p.m. (PST) on or before the closing date.In-building/In-district staff will have eight school days or eight working days during the summer to apply for a vacant position through the online application system. The employee may choose but will not be required to meet with the building administrator to understand the building practices procedures and initiatives specific to the position to which they are applying. After eight days if an in-building employee is qualified for the position the principal will offer the employee the position. In the case that more than one in-building employee is interested in a position the position will be offered to the qualified and senior employee. If a position is not filled in-building after the eight-day period the position will be offered to the qualified most senior in-district applicant if any. Teachers with a summative evaluation score of 1 or 2 are not eligible to transfer unless agreed upon by the District and Association.
