DESCRIPTION:
This is professional services work in the Office of the Attorney General providing technical investigative and litigation support to attorneys in the Consumer Protection Division and e-discovery support office-wide. This position also serves as the Office webmaster. Work is performed under limited supervision.
REPRESENTATIVE TASKS:
Responsible for supporting e-discovery office-wide including technical interfacing with the offices e-discovery vendor as well as document review and production.
Responsible for maintaining the Office website.
Responsible for managing and tracking the consumer and antitrust account and other accounts generated by revenues resulting from Division work in coordination with the Administration Division.
Assists in creating and maintaining multiple databases to aid Division work including the data breach notice database formal actions charities complaints consumer complaints tobacco reporting and 990-PF filings as well as general maintenance of content on the office website.
Works with the tobacco AAG on enforcement activities by tracking distributor sales and Non Participating Manufacturer escrow payments.
May assist in supporting Division antitrust attorneys to gather facts and analyze petroleum industry mergers and acquisitions and prepare annual reports under the Petroleum Market Share Act.
This research assistant position also performs myriad paralegal tasks as requested by division lawyers.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to do legal research including proficiency in WestlawNext.
Ability to create and use spreadsheets.
Ability to use applicable computer programs.
Ability to use e-discovery management software and on-line e-discovery services such as Everlaw.
Ability to draft legal documents.
Ability to provide basic website maintenance.
Knowledge of and ability to access legal resources.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelors Degree and four (4) years of paralegal experience in a law firm court or legal services agency - or - an equivalent combination of education and experience.
