Job Description
Dedicated engineer assigned to oversee several plants under one PVT Supervisor. Responsible to work with Dimensional Control Engineer at responsible plants to support focused work on improving the main KPIs for Bodyshop capability. Help to develop workplans to improve capability. Drive sharing of best practices and lessons learned across plants. Help to maintain accurate data in WBDM and support SPC discipline.
Responsibilities
What youll do:
- Daily review of Bodyshop capability:
- Closure assemblies
- Underbody system
- Bodyside system
- Framing system
- BIW after fit margin/flush
- VOW after fit margin/flush
- Co-develop workplans to improve capability with Bodyshop dimensional control team
- Provide cross carline lessons learned to improve quality & capability
- Monitor and support maintaining accurate data in WBDM
- Problem solve measurement system issues
- Respond to warranty feedback directly impacted by bodyshop KPIs
- Proactively respond to shifts in key bodyshop capability data
- Support BSAQ projects with ICA and PCA actions and deliverables
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
- Knowledge and experience with manufacturing and assembly operations and/or vehicle launches
- Self-starter requiring minimal direction
- Proven problem solving capabilities
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to operate in a multi-tasking demanding environment and meet timing deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in Six Sigma and/or FMEA principles
- Project Management skills
- Body Construction Manufacturing Engineering program understanding

This position is asalary grade range 5-8.
