Job Description

Business Analyst - Manufacturing Domain

Location: Tokyo
Employment Type: Full-time
Experience Required: 5 years in manufacturing business analysis

Job Summary

We are seeking a Business Analyst with expertise in the manufacturing domain to bridge the gap between business operations and IT solutions. The ideal candidate will analyze manufacturing processes identify improvement opportunities and translate business needs into functional requirements for digital transformation projects (e.g. MES ERP Industry 4.0).

Key Responsibilities

Requirement Analysis & Solution Design

  • Collaborate with manufacturing stakeholders to document as-is/to-be processes (production quality supply chain).

  • Elicit and analyze business requirements for IT/OT systems (ERP MES PLM IoT).

  • Translate operational challenges into functional specs for IT teams.

  • Conduct gap analysis and propose solutions aligned with Lean/Six Sigma principles.

Project Execution & Stakeholder Management

  • Work with cross-functional teams (IT operations vendors) to implement solutions.

  • Support UAT change management and user training.

  • Monitor KPIs (OEE cycle time defect rate) to measure solution impact.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process bottlenecks and recommend automation/digitalization opportunities.

  • Stay updated on Industry 4.0 trends (AI/ML digital twin predictive maintenance).

Required Skills

Must-Have:

 5 years as a BA in manufacturing (discrete/process industries).
Domain knowledge: production planning quality maintenance supply chain.
Experience with ERP (SAP/Oracle) MES or PLM systems.
Strong process mapping skills (BPMN Visio).
Analytical mindset with Lean/Six Sigma exposure.
Excellent communication & facilitation skills.

Nice-to-Have:

Certification: CBAP PMP Lean Six Sigma.
Knowledge of SCADA IoT or Industry 4.0 technologies.
Proficiency in SQL Power BI or data analysis tools.
