QUALIFICATIONS: Certification: Ohio Pupil Services license/Speech Language Pathologist State of Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and AudiologyEducation: Minimum of Masters DegreeExperience: Minimum of the supervised internship RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist and guide teachers in observing describing and referring suspected and identified speech hearing and language children with suspected speech or language disorders. Provide thorough assessment and diagnosis and treatment of speech voice hearing fluency and language in staffing evaluation team meetings and IEP meetings when relevant to the in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community as appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual needs of children with speech hearing and language with classroom teachers and other school staff members in the implementation of therapy strategies through researched based activities and accommodations in the students daily information support and counseling to parents and families regarding speech hearing and language lists of referred screened assessed and placed thorough ongoing records and individual educational plans for those students receiving as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for speech and language professional development and serve as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning speech hearing and language excellent interpersonal skills Possesses a basic understanding of educational curriculum and instructional methodsStrive to maintain and improve professional staff meetings and serve on staff committees as other duties will be assigned by the OVESC Superintendent.
