THE DEPARTMENT
Ambulatory Care is a system of primary and specialty care medical clinics located across Ventura County. Currently Ambulatory Care clinics provide care for over 40000 individuals with hypertension and has been selected as one of three sites for the Comparing Hypertension Remote Monitoring Evaluation Redesign (CHARMED) trial. In this role you will support functions pertinent to the CHARMED trial within Ambulatory Care. Your work will be instrumental in advancing the Ventura County Health Care Agencys mission to set the standard in health care excellence while also driving our Agency toward becoming a leader in blood pressure management.
THE POSITION
This position is responsible for developing and implementing educational and recruitment materials to encourage patient participation in the CHARMED study. The role involves direct outreach and engagement with potential participants to ensure clear understanding of the studys purpose and procedures. Additionally this position will oversee data collection ensure data integrity and conduct analysis to generate reports and support research. This position will work closely with the Quality Improvement team and will also oversee a team of community outreach professionals.

Community Services Coordinator is represented by the Services Employees International Union (SEIU) and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill current and future Regular (including Temporary and Fixed Term) Intermittent and Extra Help vacancies for this position or similar positions only. There is currently one (1) Fixed Term vacancy with an anticipated expiration date of 6/23/27.A Fixed Term position is a position designated by the Director-Human Resources or Board of Supervisors to which persons may be appointed for fixed terms not to exceed three (3) years. Fixed Term employees are eligible for the same benefits and compensation as Regular employees.

Thorough knowledge of: community and patient outreach practices; public health and/or social science topics; conducting patient-facing research in a community or safety-net setting; qualitative and basic quantitative analysis; community organization and resources; group and family dynamics; medical terminology; time management; needs and behavioral patterns of the population served; diagnostic counseling and referral techniques; federal and state laws and ordinances applicable to the program area; and specialized topics for outreach education and presentation.
Working ability to: effectively communicate complex programs and ideas to different audiences; perform statistical analysis; develop educational programs and evaluation plans; coordinate activities among various groups; provide services in a field-based environment; plan and organize work of others; conduct classroom training or educational workshops; communicate effectively orally and in writing; and exercise sound judgment in communications with patients and research staff.
Skill in: patient education; maintaining accurate records; and utilizing electronic health records.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE EVALUATION: A Training and Experience Evaluation (T&E) is a structured evaluation of the job application materials submitted by a candidate including the written responses to the supplemental questionnaire. The T&E is NOT a determination of whether the candidate meets the stated requirements; rather the T&E is one method for determining who are the better qualified among those who have shown that they meet the stated requirements. In a T&E applications are either scored or rank ordered according to criteria that most closely meet the business needs of the department. Candidates are typically scored/ranked in relation to one another; consequently when the pool of candidates is exceptionally strong many qualified candidates may receive a score or rank which is moderate or even low resulting in them not being advanced in the process.
NOTE: The selection process will likely consist of an Oral Exam which may be preceded or replaced with the score from a Training and Experience Evaluation (T&E) contingent upon the size and quality of the candidate pool. In a typical T&E your training and experience are evaluated in relation to the background experience and factors identified for successful job performance during a job analysis. For this reason it is recommended that your application materials clearly show your relevant background and specialized knowledge skills and abilities. It is also highly recommended that the supplemental questions within the application are completed with care and diligence. ORAL EXAM 100%: A job-related oral exam will be conducted to evaluate and compare participating applicants knowledge skills and abilities in relation to those factors which job analysis has determined to be essential for successful performance of the job. Applicants must earn a score of seventy percent (70%) or higher to qualify for placement on the eligible list.
If there are three (3) or fewer qualified applicants an oral exam will not be conducted. Instead a score of seventy percent (70%) will be assigned to each application and each applicant will be placed on the eligible list.
Applicants successfully completing the exam process may be placed on an eligible list for a period of one (1) year.
