The Office of First-Year Experience at Texas A&M University-San Antonio is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a full-time non-tenure-track 4/4 load nine-month contract lecturer position starting Fall 2025. The successful candidate will teach First-Year Seminar (FYS) and perform university-related service. Successful candidates are expected to teach 12 credit hours of FYS courses per semester participate in institutional services and professional development mentor new FYS faculty produce innovative and thoughtful curriculum and exhibit a collaborative style that facilitates cooperation and teamwork. Quality performance will be expected in teaching. Preference will be given to applicants who have previous experience teaching First-Year Seminar or similar courses. The position requires on-site face-to-face availability for teaching classes during the day.
This is a full-time position with the possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance evaluation. The position is fully funded by the university and comes with a full benefits package as an employee of Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
Required Education and Experience:
Graduate degree or higher in higher education psychology counseling or related fields.
At least two (2) years of relevant experience in a higher education setting.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Doctoral Degree (EdD or PhD) in higher education psychology counseling or related fields.
College/University teaching experience.
Experience with Learning Management System (Blackboard) and ePortfolios.
Effective communication skills.

Prior to issuing a letter of appointment three original letters of recommendation and official transcripts from each degree-granting institution must be received directly by the Office of First-Year Experience (see address below). E-scripts and E-recommendations will be considered IF emailed directly to the Director of First-Year Experience. If transcripts are from an international institution the prospective applicant is responsible for transcripts translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.
