Summary: The Regional Donor Relations Director is a highly relational passionate and knowledgeable fundraiser for MnTC. He or she is a spokesperson and evangelist for the organization to individuals families businesses and the greater community. The purpose of the position is to attain new donors retain existing donors and encourage greater gifts to the organization. Building and maintaining healthy relationships through community connections is key to long-term success. In addition this person leads the local staff for events mentors volunteers and church relations.
Essential Job Duties:
- The Regional Donor Relations Director focuses their attention on a specific geographical portion of the state. This role will oversee the Rochester area.
- This position requires 1-2 days a week at each assigned campus. Half of the work is front facing with donors at our campuses giving tours and cultivating relationships and half of the work will be done internally through phone email etc. Work from home options are available for a portion of your time.
Donor Relations:
- This professional focuses on mid-level donors (those giving $2K) and major donors (those giving $5K) with a goal to attain new donors at current and new campuses retain existing donors and encourage greater gifts to MnTC.
- You will manage and build relationships with a portfolio of 200 individuals churches and businesses to discover their capacity discuss their philanthropic goals and cultivate relationships that will lead to major gifts. The goal is to have your portfolio produce $1 million annually.
- Develop relationships to a point where an effective ask can be made for higher giving and capital projects.
- Develop systems to re-engage lapsed donors through intentional conversations
Targeted Donor Cultivation
- Create opportunities to ensure maximum donor participation in relevant MnTC events with a focus on the annual gala.
- Creatively develop strategies events and opportunities for introducing and attaining new donors to MnTC.
- Work with the Strategic Partnerships Team to implement strategies for retaining current major donors including mailings gift deliveries and invites.
Internal Collaboration
- Work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in multiple departments/divisions.
- Maintain effective communication and goal setting with VP of Donor Relations and all MnTC stakeholders
- Maintain/update Raisers Edge database with donor and contact information
Minimum Qualifications:

Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- 5 years of Development or Professional (sales marketing business etc.) experience
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Possession of a valid drivers license and a clean driving record that will be accepted by this organizations vehicle insurance carrier to commute to outstate facilities
- Ability to successfully complete a background check
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint) and Raisers Edge
Compensation: $80000 to $88000 range DOQ
