Job Description

Were looking for a Senior Engineering Lead to lead our brand new Account Lifecycle team and drive both the product and engineering roadmap .

The Account Lifecycle teams mission is to proactively assist and protect the customer during every part of their journey with Wise. By doing this we can improve trust and emotional connection with the Wise brand unlocking greater retention hold volume and transaction volume.

There are three focus areas for the team:

  1. Suspensions: Help customers proactively avoid suspensions and resolve them in industry-leading time 

  2. Relocation: Building a seamless experience for relocating and changing address with Wise

  3. Account assistance: Proactively protect and assist the customer especially when things go wrong.

What will you be working on You will: 

  • Drive the technical and product direction for the team aligning closely with product and design leads to build customer-first solutions.

  • Be hands-on when neededwith a strong eye for system design youll dive into technical details to help the team make smart architectural decisions and unblock complex challenges.

  • Build and scale a team that can support Wises continued hypergrowth and complex global operations.

  • Unblock the team and enable it to move faster in an increasingly large and complex global organisation by reducing inefficiencies cutting unnecessary admin and improving team focus.

  • Working iteratively to release product improvements without compromising safety or speed.

  • Collaborate closely with neighbouring squads and tribesincluding Regional and Servicing (Financial Crime KYC and account monitoring)to ensure alignment across Wises global platform.

  • Champion a healthy engineering culture rooted in continuous improvement technical excellence and customer-centricity.


Qualifications :

You will need: 

  • Proven experience leading and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.

  • Strong hands-on experience of Java (8) and Spring Framework

  • Deep understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures.

  • Product mindset you think about customer impact not just technical implementation.

  • Strong experience designing and optimizing relational databases.

  • Following and advocating best coding practices continuous delivery and code reviews.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across teams and stakeholders.
