Job Description

Your role at St John of God Berwick

You will provide administrative support to visiting specialists attending St John of God Hospital. This role encompasses all facets of customer service including booking appointments patient care accounts processing pathology cleaning stock management and general ad hoc administrative duties.

We are currently seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team at Berwick supporting our Obstetrics & Gynaecology Specialist. If youre a professional patient-focused administrator with medical reception experience wed love to hear from you!


This opportunity is being offered on a permanent part time basis working 31 hours per fortnight. In addition there will be ad hoc requirements to cover leave.

The Position

This is a varied role with duties including but not limited to:

  • Welcoming patients answering phone calls and replying to phone and email queries.

  • Timely and accurate scheduling of appointments rescheduling and attendance.

  • Accurate data entry of patient and referral details.

  • Surgical bookings including Informed Financial Consent.

  • Collection of co-payments and health fund billing.

  • Facilitating a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Accurate and thorough completion and signing of all relevant documentation.

You will have the ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively using strong time management skills along with excellent communication abilities. You will also demonstrate a capacity to learn and implement new skills and knowledge quickly and accurately.

To succeed you will have strong computer skills and you will demonstrate experience in using Excel webPAS Gentu Eclipse software packages.

The successful applicant will have experience within a reception and/or customer service environment ideally in healthcare and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail. Experience in Gynaecology/Obstetrics environment will be very advantageous.

  • Salary: $59041 to $60705(pro rata for part time) plus 12% Superannuation.
