The School District of Cape Girardeau is seeking a dedicatedCriminal Justice Instructor for the 2025-26 academic year.
The Criminal Justice Instructor facilitates meaningful learning of the course competencies in the curriculum and proactively supports all facets of the learning environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
- Occupation experience in a Criminal Justice related field.
- Must possess and maintain proper Missouri teaching certificate for the area/content to which he or she has been assigned.
- Verification of one of the following:
- Possession of a baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited college or university in the subject area being taught and four thousand (4000) hours of DESE-approved related occupational experience obtained within the most recent ten (10) years;
- Possession of an associates degree from an accredited college or university in the subject area being taught and five thousand (5000) hours of DESE-approved related occupational experience obtained within the most recent ten (10 years);
- Six thousand (6000) hours of DESE-approved related occupational experience obtained within the most recent ten (10) years. Instructor has 20 years of experience in the field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at once.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and planning skills; including ability to prioritize.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work with others on multiple tasks/projects and complete assignments with specified deadlines.
Preferred:
- Five years of related experience
