Position Summary
The Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha NE is recruiting a board eligible/board certified faculty member for its retina division with fellowship training in uveitis and either medical or surgical retina. This position includes opportunities for premier teaching innovative research and extraordinary patient care in a world-renowned academic environment. Faculty members enjoy the benefit of joining a well-established expanding department with a collegial atmosphere that includes clinicians basic scientists and training professionals in an academic medical center setting. Our faculty pursue innovation intellectual discourse and participation in an academic practice with an outstanding clinical partner in Nebraska Medicine. Ideal candidates will have an interest in pursuing a career encompassing robust clinical volumes excellent clinical and basic science research opportunities and participation in outstanding residency and fellowship programs. Our 54000 square foot Stanley M. Truhlsen Institute ( TEI ) opened in 2013 is a highly interactive modern facility with a state-of-the-art diagnostic center and experienced clinical research staff. As Nebraskas only academic Department of Ophthalmology and the only provider of specialized uveitis eye care training and innovation in the region UNMC / TEI is committed to the education of the next generation to finding cures and treatments for devastating diseases to providing the best care for patients and to serve Nebraska and its communities through award-winning outreach.
