You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Programming Group Manager is responsible for managing ADOTs transportation programming functions. Develops and coordinates the Five Year Transportation Facilities ConstructionProgram (the Program) and the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP); provides technical expertise and management assistance to ensure ADOT fulfills its federal (23 USC135 23 CFR 420 and 450) and state (ARS Title 28) responsibilities for transportation planning and programming. Works in conjunction with other government entities and majorstakeholders engaged in transportation planning and the many elements connected to these programs including but not limited to metropolitan planningcommittees/rural transit planning relevant studies and competitive applications. Oversees the Arizona State Match Advantage for Rural Transportation (AZ SMART) fund. Oversee the staff duties for all subordinate staff and consultants.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Provides leadership coaching and guidance to subordinate staff and monitors and evaluates performance of subordinate staff. Providing leadership for theProgramming Group. Develops and supervises various components and subprograms for the Program including but not limited to metropolitan planning andrural planning to ensure a cohesive overall Program.
Provides important technical program and project management expertise. Supervises manages and directs work of programming staff to develop the
Program and the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). Coordinates with the Planning Manager to facilitate an efficient and effective
Planning to Programming (P2P) linkage.
Integrates all jurisdictions and modes of travel to create an integrated and holistic Arizona transportation plan and program. Build strong networking
relationships with appropriate cooperation coordination and communication with internal and external transportation partners stakeholders and
customers including city county tribal state and federal groups.
Advises and assists leadership on complex difficult and technically demanding issues relevant to MPD Programming policies and procedures legislativeanalysis and research system performance monitoring and measurements and funding and financial analysis.
Serves as a vital resource for the Programming Group to ensure appropriate cooperation and communication between internal and external partners
customers and stakeholders.

Valid AZ Drivers License with acceptable 39 month MVR.
Bachelors Degree in Planning Business Management Public Administration or other related/relevant field.
This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.11).
