Job Description
Position Overview:
Northwest Talent Solutions is proud to be working on behalf of our client a leading manufacturing organization to identify a Plant Engineer who will lead maintenance operations reliability programs and continuous improvement initiatives at their West Chicago facility.
This position is ideal for a hands-on engineering leader with strong supervisory experience a passion for troubleshooting and a desire to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead all safety environmental and maintenance practices in alignment with OSHA and regulatory standards
-
Drive maintenance excellence and lead TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives to optimize uptime and performance
-
Provide strong people leadership for maintenance technicians; ensure training cross-skilling and development
-
Scope budget and manage capital projects
-
Perform root cause analysis (FMEA 5 Whys) and implement preventive and predictive measures
-
Collaborate cross-functionally with plant leadership on continuous improvement activities and daily operations
-
Maintain detailed equipment records and PM logs via CMMS
-
Monitor and reduce downtime waste and operational costs
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelors degree in Engineering Industrial Maintenance or related field
-
3 years leading a plant maintenance function OR 5 years of manufacturing supervisory experience

Strong mechanical electrical hydraulic and instrumentation troubleshooting skills
-
Proven continuous improvement experience (Lean Six Sigma Kaizen etc.)

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using CMMS platforms (specify in interview)

Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Familiarity with HVAC plumbing facility audits and contractor management

Previous capital project execution experience
-
Experience implementing TPM or Maintenance Reliability strategies
Compensation & Benefits:

Base Salary: $116160 $130680
-
Target Bonus: 12.5% of base salary (paid quarterly)
