Full Time General Surgery-Colorectal NP/PA Opening in Danbury Connecticut (60 miles from New York City)
Danbury Hospital now part of Nuvance Health is seeking a Full Time Nurse Practitioner and/ or Physician Assistant join our General Surgery-Colorectal team in Danbury Connecticut located about 60 miles northeast of New York City and near the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York State. The ideal candidate will be board certified with previous experience in the surgical setting. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule in an outpatient setting. No evenings weekends or call. The position will support general surgery bariatrics colorectal and acute care surgery. We offer a highly competitive compensation package including allowances for CME/Dues and CME time.
The ideal candidate will be a board-certified Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant with previous surgical setting experience though new graduates will be considered. This position requires a minimum formal education of Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant training State of CT license and Federal DEA and CT Controlled Substance Registration.
Established in 1885 Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital we are associated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine Ross University American University of the Caribbean and Yale School of Medicine. Our Medical Group includes 900 physicians and advanced practice providers serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.
Danbury Connecticut located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and on the border of New York State is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford CT. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area the city of Danbury enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide array of outdoor activities including hiking biking fishing and boating in state and regional parks and preserves. Danbury is home to Western Connecticut State University as well as a number of historical sites museums theaters and art galleries. Surrounded by a number of quaint towns with scenic rolling hills the area offers a variety of excellent housing and school options. Boston New York City New Haven and Hartford are easily accessible via train or car.
