INROCK in Houston TX is looking for a
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
INROCK part of Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions (SMR) is a leader in supplying the premium maxi rig sector of horizontal directional drilling operations in North America. The company is headquartered in Houston Texas.
Key Performance Areas
- Supports departments control environment
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly close cycles
- Budgets for cost centers
- Analyses actual to variant budgets
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains
- Documentation for all transactions
- General ledger
- Fixed asset subledger
- Prepares journal entries as needed including:
- prepaid amortization
- IFRS lease entries
- calculating depreciation
- deferred revenue
- allowance for bad debts
- intercompany transactions
- Manages monthly needs including:
- Account reconciliations
- Balance sheet
- P&L reporting package
- Responsible for
- Inventory rentals and fixed asset transactions
- Resolution of overdue bills/payment collection
- assisting with tax filings for multiple states
- Internal Controls
- Ad-hoc projects and reports as requested
- Resolves complex accounting issues
- Implements improvements to accounting processes and procedures
- Assists with internal and external audits
- Ensures accurate intercompany balances are posted promptly
Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily during a 90-day probationary period. Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting with 3 plus years of experience as a senior accountant with a manufacturing company. A demonstrated competence in MS Dynamics NAV and a strong ability to use MS Excel to solve problems. Public accounting experience would be a plus.
Language Skills:
Ability to read analyze and interpret accounting guidance financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal customers external auditors or fellow financial professionals in an appropriate manner.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply logical and mathematical concepts to financial and operational matters
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of financial and accounting information.
