Overview

Lead Systems Engineer

Desktop Engineering End User Computing Citrix

(ON-SITE)

The Lead Systems Engineer is primarily responsible for designing building testing and implementing a End User Computing environment that stretches multiple datacenters. All in accordance with the best practices/validated designs and technology direction of Select Medical. The Lead Systems Engineer should solicit input from others to understand the broader business context of situations before finalizing technical recommendations. They are also primarily responsible for mentoring junior Systems and Infrastructure staff members and consultants. The Lead Systems Engineer reports to the Manager of IT Systems.

Responsibilities

Provides Technology Support and Service

  • LeadsDevelops strategies and processes to ensure that stakeholders needs are identified and met commitments are delivered upon and that stakeholders receive superior quality service
  • LeadsDevelops creative solutions to effectively handle difficult incidents and various techniques to diffuse situations and keep stakeholders calm
  • Exhibits extensive knowledge of IT systems applications cloud computing and/or networks and utilizes this knowledge to develop training for other technical supporters

Develops and Maintains Systems Applications and Infrastructure

  • Follows IT security best practices policies and procedures in support of IT security programs
  • Analyzes user requirements develops and implements functional specifications and configurations for complex systems and ensures requirements are met
  • Champions best practices within functional area to enhance IT solutions and improve processes and results
  • Champions recommendations and improvements to system and process performance and functionality
  • Monitors and manages overall system and recommends solutions to hardware or software problems and issues

Infrastructure Support

  • Maintains IT systems and performs regular proactive maintenance and system updates

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong teamwork interpersonal and communication skills a must. Ability to read write and speak in a professional manner.
  • Possesses strong continuous improvement analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must possess an appropriate sense of urgency responsibility promptness and professionalism.
  • Able to work extended hours or weekends as needed and respond to urgent needs during off-hours periods. Open to occasional travel.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and adapt to changing business priorities.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • 6-10 years Experience with AWS Azure M365 PowerShell and configuration as code
  • 6-10 years performing hardware/OS/software installation and configuration.
  • 6-10 years performing server administration in a large (500) server environment.
  • 6-10 years experience managing a enterprise Citrix environment (Citrix Cloud PVS Storefront)
