Direct Support Professional (DSP)
A Direct Support Professional (DSP) is needed at a residential facility for adults with developmental disabilities in Waynesboro VA.
This role supports individuals in a small group home environment and collaborates with an inter-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive care. The level of patient care is intermediate.
A sign on bonus of $2500 is offered along with hourly pay based on years of experience extra pay for employees who work nights and weekends up to $350 extra per month as part of an employee retention program and a host of other benefits listed below.
Salary and Benefits:

- Sign-on bonus of $2500.00.
- Base pay rate by years of experience (does not include shift differentials or monthly stipend)
- 0-4 years - $17.50/hour
- 5-9 years - $18/hour
- 10-14 years - $19/hour
- 20-24 years - $20/hour
- 24 years - $20.96/hour
- Shift differentials (extra pay):
- $1.75/hour during weeknight third shift (Tues/Wed/Thur.)
- $2.50/hour (Fri-Mon for weekend Third Shift)
- $350/month employee retention stipend!
- 14 paid holidays with double pay provided for holiday shifts.

Responsibilities
- Provides direct daily support to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in both residential and community settings.
- Monitors clients progress toward their personal goals giving assistance as needed.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of and assists with the implements person-centered plans.
- Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to ensure client needs are understood and served.
- Assists with household tasks as needed such as food preparation and cleaning.
- Works with teammates to ensure a safe healthy environment within the group home.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Satisfactory completion of Direct Care Professional and Medication Administration training courses within one year of hire.
- Once hired must maintain certification in CPR/First Aid and other required trainings.
- Must pass required pre-employment screenings including but not limited to criminal history and experience verification.
- A Virginia drivers license with at least 0 points.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Stand squat sit bend stoop stretch.
- Lift at least 25% of body weight.
- Assist with wheelchair transfers and push a wheelchair.
- Facilitate client transition from laying down sitting or other positions with or without supports.
- Work in an environment where latex or food-based allergens may be present.
- Assist with meal preparation service and clean-up.
- Submit to a tuberculosis screening.
