Job Description Summary
This position provides instruction in Spanish and advising for students pursuing the Associate of Arts Degree.
Duties
1. Develops and/or teaches courses for which the appropriate credential is held. 2. Teaches in various formats various locations and via various delivery methods. 3. Advises students. 4. Adheres to policies procedures expectations and practices of the College the department and discipline. 5. Communicates clearly with students other faculty and staff. 6. Contributes to a safe and secure campus environment. 7. Enforces Code of Classroom Conduct and Code of Student Conduct. 8. Assists with program reviews program accreditation and SACSCOC accreditation as appropriate. 9. Attends meetings and events and actively participates on committees and taskforces. 10. Attends the annual commencement ceremony. 11. Upholds the College Vision Mission Values and RISE statement. 12. Establishes or upholds learning outcomes that are relevant and meaningful. 13. Evaluates student progress in a fair consistent and timely manner. 14. Develops prepares and/or delivers all levels of curriculum courses. 15. Develops supervises and grades the Spanish Placement Exam and Course Credit-By-Exam tests. 16. Completes required professional development annually. Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience teaching at a community college. 2. Proficiency in another foreign language such as French Portuguese an East Slavic language and/or American Sign Language.
