JOB TITLE:
Cowboy Coach Peer Mentor
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Student Success & Graduation continues to grow its peer mentorship program led by trained peer mentors called Cowboy Coaches. Cowboy Coaches help students find their community connect with resources and achieve their academic goals. Students in these positions receive a competitive hourly rate of pay with opportunities to partake in a variety of paid professional development opportunities. Cowboy Coaches are expected to work about 8-15 hours per week throughout the academic year. Cowboy Coaches are also expected to serve as Poke Pack Leaders for Saddle Up our weeklong freshmen orientation program. During this week overtime opportunities are available. Additionally with professional staff guidance and support Cowboy Coaches work with a variety of campus partners to host run and support a variety of campus events and initiatives.
Student Success & Graduation is dedicated to supporting the diverse needs of our students. To ensure personalized and effective guidance Cowboy Coaches are assigned to student cohorts based on academic programs aligned with students majors and minors. Coach assignments are determined by the specific needs of campus units and programs at the time of placement. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling as-needed basis in alignment with those evolving needs.

JOB PURPOSE:
Provide peer mentorship and support to a caseload of students as well as to provide support for broader campus retention initiatives. JFNTMP
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meet with an assigned caseload of students each semester. Additionally maintain communication with students via weekly emails encourage appointment attendance via outreach and monthly campaigns serve on a committee with other Cowboy Coaches based on your interests and complete additional duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide additional support for students as a Poke Pack Leader for Saddle Up.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:Post high school education in process.
Other requirements:Excellent communication and people skills.
Candidates selected for this position will undergo a thorough reference and background check which must be completed successfully prior to a formal written offer for employment.
