We announce the following TEACHING vacancy in Rochester Community Schools for the 2025-26 school year. Applications will be accepted until filled.

ELD (English Language Development) TEACHER

DISTRICTWIDE

1.0 FTE

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must hold valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in area of responsibility with appropriate endorsement (NS)
  • English Language Development teachingexperience preferred
  • Bachelors Degree in area of major study.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement daily lesson plans
  • Provide individualized and/or small group instructions for students in the English Language Development program
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers regarding appropriate accommodations and scaffolds for multilingual learners
  • Administer state required assessments and screeners for multilingual students
  • Attend professional learning focusing on multilingual learners as assigned
  • Collaborate with other English Language Development staff members
  • Collect and analyze data relevant to multilingual students
  • Build upon the cultural and linguistic assets of English Learners to support equitable educational opportunities
  • Maintain records per the requirements of state and federal supplemental grants
  • May involve daily travel between two buildings
  • Other duties as assigned

Per Rochester Education Association Master Agreement
