Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Video Sales Specialist Northern Europe the Video Sales Specialist (VSS) Manager is a new role responsible for leading a team of video experts in Germany. We seek an established industry expert within the streaming and video space to spearhead sales of Amazons video advertising solutions - spanning Prime Video Live Sport Twitch OLV and third-party video publishers within the Amazon DSP.

The VSS team part of the Global Video Advertising and Partnership Team (GVAP) has a mission to help customers unlock the full potential of Amazon Ads video solutions to deliver video goals. Working in collaboration with the vertical sales teams to drive adoption of Amazon Ads video solutions VSS acts as domain experts responsible for providing scalable insight case studies and strategic pitches tailored to the unique needs of German customers. At optimal level VSS is primarily a customer-facing unit (70% of time) not as end-to-end front-line sellers but as thought leaders and experts equipped to address complex objections empowering sales through knowledge and strategies. Working closely with the Video Strategy Go-to-Market (VSGTM) team VSS ensures that GTM strategies are fine-tuned to the nuances of German customers accelerating product adoption. They serve to establish Amazon Ads as video thought-leaders and a center of excellence fostering a deeper understanding of Amazon Ads video solutions.

* Act as a thought leader and senior executive within Amazon Ads.
* Drive the overall sales function sales vision and value proposition to grow our video sales approach across all video properties.
* Drive adoption of Amazons video advertising solutions
* Lead and manage a team of x6 Senior Video Sales Specialists
* Work with VSGTM to contribute to the end-to-end strategy for positioning pricing packaging and planning of Amazons Video advertising solutions.
* Drive innovation positioning Amazon Ads as a streaming and video leader
* Apply a deep understanding of all 1P and 3P measurement tools
* Drive Amazon DSP adoption
* Deliver the German Brand Partnership goal and develop branded integration opportunities and unique sponsorships.
* Hire develop and lead the growing team of specialists.
* Deliver pitches and strategic work to drive revenue and exceed goals
* Utilize Sales CRM and other mechanisms to track pertinent account information and sales progress
* Capture customer and partner feedback (Voice of Customer) to inform and drive video solutions.
* Create internal and external mechanisms to monitor progress and keep stakeholders up to date and inspired.
* Engage with internal cross-functional teams including product GTM AEs and AMs to execute successfully on the needs of our customers.
* Represent Amazon at industry events
* Deliver training initiatives to raise sales competency
* The ideal candidate will possess both a sales and strategic leadership background within video (TV/digital/streaming) that enables them to drive a comprehensive sales strategy around how Amazon Ads evolves video advertising.

* 10 years of B2B sales experience
* Experience managing high-performing teams
* Experience hiring and retaining sales talent
* 10 years selling video media across agencies and advertisers
* Experience of engaging and maintaining C-Level relationships
* Experience managing internal and external relationships with senior stakeholders including
* Sales Account Management and Product groups
* Experience building and deploying GTM strategies with an emphasis on packaging positioning and messaging
* Demonstrated ability to close sales and generate revenue with a focus on delivering long-term customer-driven outcomes
* Manage customer objection handling and suggest alternative solutions as necessary to maximize partnership opportunities
* Bachelors degree or equivalent
* Advanced level of German and English


* Excellent communication skills including the ability to present complex topics both in person and through concise document writing
* Strong analytical ability and confidence in the use of data
* Programmatic DSP and SSP experience
* Experience selling brand partnerships
* Experience working directly with product teams
* Develop product and sales strategies that uniquely position products
* Experience negotiating Video Upfronts at agency and brand level
* Experience selling nascent products and/or services
