POSITION SUMMARY:
The position assists the Financial Officer in the financial management and coordination of the Supreme Court budget monitoring and auditing of expenditures and projecting year end balances. This position also assists the Division directors and the AOC Budget Officer in preparing the Supreme Court state budget requests. Supervises professional personnel involved in the day-to-day management of diverse court-wide finance-related duties.
Additionally this position will provide technical assistance in the financial and budgetary management of assigned programs which includes assisting in the preparation of division budgets budget modifications grant proposal budgets funding agreements and financial reporting. Develop financial policies and procedures related to compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. Act as liaison to Budget Officer for divisions budgetary matters serve as accounting system administrator and analyze and interpret fiscal impact of legislation.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid-telework schedule once the employee has completed three (3) months of employment and has sufficiently proven their ability to perform assigned tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will hold a degree in accounting finance or related field and have five years of directly related experience.
This position requires knowledge of principles practices procedures and terminology of accounting/financial record keeping and statistical reporting. Governmental accounting systems and procedures and principle and practices of supervision including hiring training and evaluation of subordinates.
This position also requires the ability to effectively supervise employees review work of other to ensure accuracy analyze interpret and report research findings make recommendations and take appropriate action communicate effective both orally and in writing and understand interpret and apply a variety of complex policies procedures rules regulations contracts court documents and other legal documents.
The preferred candidate will have an advanced degree or be a Certified Public Accountant.
