JOB TITLE: Clerk(Part-Time) DEPARTMENT: Parks Recreation & Civic Facilities DIVISION: Nature Center SALARY: CLOSING DATE: 07/23/2025 HOURS: 21 hours (Includes weekends holidays & some evenings) Job Summary/Scope Provides general clerical support and customer service for the Nature Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Answers and handles incoming calls and interacts with the public. Performs general clerical duties for the Nature Center. Assists in the Gift shop. Assists with daily reports and deposits. Performs craft sessions and leads birthday party packages with children and families.
Other Duties and Responsibilities Serves as back up for the administrative office personnel when needed. Assists with various activities and events in the Nature Center. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Skills in telephone etiquette detailed record keeping working with numbers. Knowledge of computer and related programs fax machine copy machine and other various office equipment. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to work flexible hours which will include evenings weekends and holidays. Valid Drivers License preferred.
Material and Equipment Directly Used Uses a variety of office equipment such as computer and related software copier fax machine telephone typewriter calculator and other related equipment. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required.
Working Environment/Physical Requirements Work is generally performed in an office setting with a controlled environment. Will be required to work outdoors at various events/programs on a seasonal basis where conditions can vary from extreme heat and cold with dust dirt snow ice and noise while standing bending lifting and other physical activities. Seldom needs to lift more than 10 to 20 pounds. Must be willing to work with and around live animals as well as assist with educational programming. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Leave scheduling shall be requested of and approved by the appropriate supervisor.
Education High school diploma or equivalent required. One or more years of experience or any combination of formal education and work experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
