Job Description

Are you a creative and experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to design large-scale innovative mechanical systems in the entertainment and theme park industry Join a company nationally recognized employee-owned engineering firm with over 40 years of success and innovation.

Were hiring a Mechanical Engineer to lead and support the design and implementation of advanced mechanical systems for world-class attractions and complex industrial projects. This position is onsite in Orlando FL with travel to local client sites up to 35% of the time.

What Youll Do:

  • Design and develop large-scale mechanical systems from concept through commissioning
  • Perform mechanical calculations including stress fatigue life expectancy and failure analysis
  • Create and analyze mechanical system layouts CAD drawings and assembly documentation using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Integrate pneumatic and hydraulic control systems

  • Support field installation system testing and commissioning

  • Lead hazard and risk assessments and failure mode analysis

  • Interface with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers designers and clients
  • Act as technical lead and/or project manager on small-to-mid-size projects
  • Assist with procurement subcontractor coordination and schedule/budget tracking

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 5 years of mechanical engineering experience including full system design
  • Experience with ride systems themed attractions or amusement rides (ASTM F24 standards a plus)
  • Strong command of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks

  • Hands-on field and troubleshooting experience

  • Willingness to travel locally up to 35%

  • Ability to work in diverse environments from office settings to construction and installation sites

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of mechanical loads material stress and dynamic forces
  • Ability to minimize single points of failure in system design

  • Experience managing small projects (budgets from $50K$250K)

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook Teams)
