Job Description
RCA will deliver basic respiratory care with nebulizers and MDIs. Delivers safe accurate and timely patient care that conforms to HCMH standards departmental goals and the following job duties: oxygen administration equipment processing manual resuscitation humidity and aerosol therapy small Volume Nebulizer Therapy incentive Spirometry chest physiotherapy and arterial puncture.
Education and Formal Training: Must be in good standing in an accredited program for Respiratory Care Assistants. Must also be in their last year of the program. Must be BCLS certified
Work Experience: Must have at least six months experience in the field of respiratory care.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required: Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing with ill people; uses tact sensitivity sound judgment and a professional attitude when relating with patients families and co-workers at all times. Actively functions as a patient advocate. Must have thorough knowledge of all areas of Respiratory Care. Must develop knowledge of current hospital emergency policies and procedures fire safety disaster and infection control policies.
