Job Description
Senior Process Engineer Lead Innovation with the @one Alliance
Location: Peterborough / Hybrid
Join the @one Alliance a collaborative powerhouse of eight industry-leading companies (Anglian Water Balfour Beatty Barhale Binnies MMB MWH Treatment Skanska and SWECO) working together to deliver over half of Anglian Waters capital investment programme.
With AMP8 now underway were driving the most ambitious and innovative investment period yetand were on the lookout for passionate experienced Senior Process Engineers to lead the charge in designing sustainable water and water recycling solutions across the East of England.
What youll do
As a Senior Process Engineer youll take on a leadership role within our Place-Based Thinking team guiding and supporting teams across a portfolio of non-infrastructure water and water recycling projects. Youll bring expert knowledge mentorship and oversight to ensure our designs are technically sound sustainable and aligned with both industry best practice and Anglian Waters goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and reviewing process design deliverables across a range of projects.
Checking P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams) calculations and 3D models for accuracy quality safety and compliance.
Providing engineering technical direction to process engineers across your region.
Driving low-carbon sustainable design thinking into all aspects of process development.
Supporting the development and implementation of design alerts and lessons learned.
Ensuring designs comply with internal and external regulations and standards.
Collaborating closely with Principal Engineers Portfolio Design Managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver value-focused fit-for-purpose solutions.
Mentoring and coaching junior engineers fostering technical development across the team.
Participating in site visits as needed to assess process performance and validate design.
Presenting learnings and innovations across the Alliance to share knowledge and promote continuous improvement.
Embracing and promoting digital design technologies and data-driven processes.
What were looking for
Degree in Engineering or a related disciplineor equivalent level of knowledge through experience.
Significant experience in the water industry ideally on large-scale water recycling capital projects.
Proven track record of delivering robust process designs within multidisciplinary teams.
Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to guide and develop others.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and water-sector process standards.
A passion for sustainability innovation and digital transformation.
Excellent communication collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
