Position Description

The City of Seattle is seeking an accomplished project management professional with expertise in capital projects and public works construction contracts! If that sounds like you this is your opportunity to join a talented team dedicated to providing high-quality and efficient capital facility project delivery.

The Senior Project Manager works within the Capital Development Division in the Major Projects and Tenant Improvements Team. The position manages project delivery from feasibility study through design and construction and ending with closeout. Much of the work is contract management and stakeholder management. A successful candidate must be willing to take initiative and be motivated to manage a full project workload while quickly adapting to the Divisions delivery processes City State and Federal Codes and other relevant policies.

This Team works with our partner City Departments to delivery on their capital facility needs. Project scopes can vary greatly including:

  • Installing a small storage shed at $100000.
  • Upgrading a police precinct to meet ADA standards at $300000.
  • Remodeling four floors of the Seattle Municipal Tower at $20M.
  • Building a new fire station at $50M.

FAS is often the publics first interaction with the City of Seattle operating as a customer-focused front door that assists with everything from paying utilities or reporting a pothole to requesting public information or even adopting a new pet.

The 500-plus employees of FAS span across 10 divisions and work behind-the-scenes providing critical functions like managing 120 City facilitiesincluding police and fire stations overseeing the Citys neighborhood customer service centers and Customer Service Bureau and making sure minority-owned businesses can equitably compete for City contracts. Work Environment
This position requires a minimum of three days per week of onsite work. Alternative Work Arrangements and hybrid telework schedules for work conducted in a normal office environment may be considered and will be based on operational needs and consistency with City policies.

Additional Information

This position is classified as a Strategic Advisor 2 General Government. The full salary range for this job classification is$54.60 -$81.91 per hour. This position is FLSA exempt (not eligible for overtime) and is Civil Service. The salary range for this individual role has been identified as $74.36 - $77.48 (target salary range) per hour or $113568 - $ 170372.8 annually.
