Job Description Summary
An instructor in this position will conduct college courses for undergraduate students in the cardiovascular sonography program. This individual must possess the knowledge and skills to teach and supervise students in classroom laboratory and clinical settings.
Duties
1. Teach all levels of courses within the cardiovascular sonography curriculum. Contact hours per week ranging from 15 to 18 hours. 2. Supervise students in laboratory and clinical environments. 3. Develop teaching materials activities and handouts for each course. 4. Prepare and deliver lectures to students. 5. Abide by policies standards goals and objectives of the College and Department. 6. Participate in assessment planning implementation and evaluation activities to improve the instructional quality of the program. 7. Maintain professional certification and seeks opportunities for professional development. 8. Perform duties as assigned by Department Chairperson. 9. Seek out new clinical opportunities for students.
Minimum Requirements
1. Associate Degree in Allied Health. 2. Credentialed in cardiovascular sonography and in good standing with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with RDCS credentials or equivalent. 3. Possess a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience as a registered cardiac sonographer. Full-time is defined as 35 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor Degree in related field.
