Job Description

Were looking for a dynamic Solution Consultant to help us craft innovative competitive and operationally sound proposals that win business and make a difference to our clients and the people that they serve.

A key focus for Capita is to grow our Capita Public Service (CPS) footprint enabling us to drive change innovation and cost savings in this area. The CPS Win Centre plays a pivotal role in designing and delivering complex high-impact solutions that align with our business strategy and drive meaningful outcomes for our clients and their customers and the Solution Consultant plays a crucial role in this team.

As a Solution Consultant youll be responsible for developing tailored solutions that combine creativity with commercial and technical rigour. Youll work across a variety of bids bringing together the right resources processes and implementation planswhile ensuring clarity compliance and compelling value propositions.

Job Description:

What youll be doing:

  • Lead a solution workstream for bids producing high-quality solution artefacts that are innovative underpinned by best practice operationally viable cost-optimised and designed to impress the customer.

  • Conduct research and analysis of stakeholders competitors markets demographics locations people processes and technology to inform senior-level discussions create tailored solutions influence decision-making and differentiate Capitas offering.

  • Identify the solution components needed to meet customer needs evaluating options and selecting the most appropriate approach based on evidence research and analysis.

  • Deconstruct scope and articulate solution design work packages to be delivered individually or delegated to team members through iterative development while monitoring and managing third-party contributions as needed.

  • Influence and challenge internal and external stakeholders including third parties to ensure the solution is innovative viable and appropriately costed in line with the win price.

  • Manage and mitigate risks assumptions issues dependencies and opportunities (RADIO).

  • Collaborate with the Bid Manager and Sales Lead to ensure solutions are costed assured agreed and signed off through appropriate bid operational and commercial governance processes.

Essential skills and experience

  • Previous experience in a pre-sales role

  • A strong understanding of public sector markets (central/local government NHS education sector etc)

  • Proven experience across the whole solution lifecycle

  • Leadership skills and experience

Desirable skills and experience

  • A project or programme management qualification
