Vice President Energy Performance & Assurance Location: Dallas TX
Position Summary:
Cenergistic is seeking a highly analytical and client-focused Vice President of Energy Performance & Client Reporting to lead our enterprise-wide Measurement & Verification (M&V) function. This role is central to ensuring the accuracy transparency and credibility of our energy savings and performance outcomes across all client engagements.
The ideal candidate brings a rare combination of technical expertise financial discipline and executive communication skills. A background in public accounting or financial oversight including CPA certification is highly desirable as this role will frequently present complex performance data to C-suite executives boards and external auditors.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for translating verified energy and cost savings into trusted results that sustain client relationships and drive renewals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Design and execute a forward-thinking M&V and client reporting strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
Serve as a trusted advisor on energy performance data integrity and cost savings validation across the enterprise.
Represent Cenergistic at client briefings industry conferences and internal strategy sessions as a subject matter expert.
Client-Facing Communication & Reporting
Present M&V findings and savings analyses to senior stakeholders including CFOs superintendents and board members.
Translate complex technical and financial data into accessible persuasive narratives tailored to executive audiences.
Collaborate with Client Success and Sales teams to reinforce performance transparency and contract value.
Operational Oversight
Oversee all measurement and verification efforts for energy conservation sustainability and performance contracts.
Ensure rigorous compliance with IPMVP ASHRAE and relevant regulatory/financial reporting standards.
Establish and maintain quality assurance protocols for all performance reports and analyses.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and grow a high-performing team of analysts and M&V professionals.
Define performance standards metrics and review cycles to ensure excellence and accountability.
Foster a culture of technical excellence continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelors or masters degree in accounting Engineering Energy Management Data Analytics or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.
10 years of experience in energy efficiency financial auditing or performance verification including 5 years in a leadership role.
Experience engaging with C-level stakeholders and presenting to external clients or boards.
Skills & Attributes
Expertise in M&V methodologies and financial validation frameworks.
Strong command of accounting standards audit processes and compliance best practices.
Exceptional analytical and communication skills especially in simplifying data for non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in advanced reporting tools and data analysis platforms (e.g. Excel Power BI Tableau).
Proven leadership in high-stakes environments with measurable impact on client retention and satisfaction.
