As a Health Safety and Environmental Advisor at Ledcor youll work closely with front-line supervisors and crews to ensure safety practices meet and exceed company standards. Youll conduct site inspections support incident investigations and help implement proactive safety initiatives. Youll be a key resource for identifying risks and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Essential Responsibilities:
- Works within HS&E team to provide advice to Operations management on HS&E issues and topics
- Demonstrates Ledcor core values by creating clear and timely Flash Reports and participating in detailed fact-based incident investigations
- Develops skills and techniques in the implementation of Ledcors HS&E Program under the tutelage of senior HS&E staff
- Acquires basic knowledge of site safety program emergency response fire control systems personal protective equipment
- Participates in project site Operations staff safety meetings
- Develops materials for daily work crew Toolbox Talk meeting
- Participates in the development of Safe Work Practices and Job Hazard Assessments
Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience in commercial construction telecommunications or a related industry with a focus on health and safety
- Pursueor hold a diploma or certificate in occupational health and safety from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Possesscertifications such as OSHA 500/510 or ASP (considered an asset)
- Applyknowledge of OH&S regulations effectively in day-to-day site operations
- Communicateclearly with field staff and collaborate confidently with project managers clients and stakeholders
- Demonstratea proactive approach to safety through risk assessments training program development and incident investigations
- Must have and maintain a valid class drivers license with clean abstract
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol testing requirements
Work Conditions:
- Position is field based - travel to various sites and office locations will be required
