Job Description

Job Responsibilities


This position is located with the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health Beckman Center for Mental Health Services Newberry Mental Health Clinic 2043 Medical Park Drive Newberry SC 29108.

The Office of Mental Healths mission is to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses. We provide a complete array of medical and support services for children adults and families throughout South Carolina.

As the Director of Beckmans Newberry Mental Health Clinic working under limited supervision you will direct the county mental health clinic in the provision of a comprehensive array of clinical services ensuring that quality mental health services are provided to patients through the supervision of programs and staff. In addition you will also monitor expenditures and revenues generated to ensure fiscal goals are reached.

Responsibilities for the Program Manager I:

  • Direct and manage the clinic outpatient services and day-to-day operations through the supervision of clinical and administrative functions monitors and ensures documentation is in accordance with Quality Assurance Standards.
  • Ensure that all staff are knowledgeable of and measured against productivity expectations for clinical service.
  • Ensure a system is in place to meet established access requirements for patients.
  • Ensure caseload guidelines for adults (80) children (60) and MMO (200) are met.
  • Ensure that patients are seen in accordance with their needs.
  • Ensure that patient satisfaction and symptom reduction are measured and reported on a regular on-going basis.
  • Ensure patient functionality is measured by the DLA-20.
  • Ensure use of Collaborative Documentation
  • Provide oversight to the clinical staff in the area of Compliance and ensures that clinical staff are trained on compliance safety drills and Disaster Preparedness.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • A bachelors degree and relevant program experience.
Additional Requirements
  • A masters degree in counseling social science or related field and four (4) years of post-graduate experience of which one (1) year was in a supervisory position in a clinical setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
  • Qualify for credentialing & privileging as a mental health professional and in accordance with Quality Assurance standards and with concurrence by OMH Office of Quality Management.

  • Position is considered essential and may be called back during crises/disasters/emergencies
