Demonstrated experience working in a diverse multi-cultural academic setting preferred. Competency in use of current related educational Responsibilities: - Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the time designated. - Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs and abilities of the students identified as English Learners. - Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media. - Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. - Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required. - Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulations. - Act as a liaison between families and school staff whenever appropriate. - Strive to maintain and improve professional competence. - Make recommendations as needed to the Principal and Director of Pupil Services for students identified as ELL. - Attend staff meetings as required. - Designs activities for learning experiences that best utilize the available time for instruction. - Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. - Supervises students in activities outside the classroom during the assigned working day. - Participates in curriculum development programs as required. - Participates in faculty committees. - Administers or monitors district and state wide assessments. - Acts as a Mandated Reporter (Chapter 119 Section 51A). - Complies with the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Policy. - Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Pupil Services and/or Building Principals
