Key Responsibilities
Lavender Lodge School resides within an 18th Century building in the heart of Mitcham. Pupils come from many different boroughs to attend the school and are fortunate to experience a life changing love of learning. The school takes pride in its pupils and dedicated team with students leaving with a strong sense of achievement. Lavender Lodge was recently recognised as Good by Ofsted.
Clinicians are a crucial part of one of the most joined-up models in SEND. Across all of the organisations specialist schools and childrens homes they provide unrivalled levels of clinical support both in terms of expertise and breadth of provision. The young people supported present with a complexity of need including developmental trauma neuro-developmental conditions and special educational needs.
As part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team the Speech and Language Therapist will support educational and residential colleagues in creating therapeutic living and learning environments. Based on clinical assessment and formulation they will provide individualised interventions and engage directly with young people to support their development. The therapist will also assess the mental health needs of young people and recommend appropriate interventions through personalised care plans. Building strong rapport is essential enabling the delivery of effective counselling and meaningful feedback on progress.
