DescriptionYou will be responsible for the general supervision of designated Defence gymnasiums during mandated hours of operation; the gym attendant welcomes entitled members and works collaboratively with Defence Physical Training Instructors (PTIs) to give each member a safe productive and enjoyable experience. Your capacity to build productive relationships with the client and the customer and to provide exemplary customer service is of the utmost importance. Professionalism in your conduct and communication is expected at all times.
- Conduct of pre-opening duties turn on lights switch on air conditioning/ heating or open windows turn on electrical equipment complete safety and performance checks of all cardio and weights equipment inspect all areas for cleanliness review group and individual resource bookings for the day ahead
- Provide new members or visitors with facility overview non-technical use of gymnasium equipment within each facility location of amenities hours of operation dress standards and behaviour guidelines emergency procedures hygiene administrative requirements access and safety awareness protocols consistent with site standing orders
- Review daily / weekly equipment requirements via booking system and assist PTIs set up / disassemble equipment required for classes in designated areas
- Maintain the weights and cardiovascular fitness areas ensuring areas are kept neat presentation and used according to the rules of the facility. Misuse or other behaviour concerns are to be reported to PTI on duty
- Undertake weekly non-technical inspections and testing of each piece of equipment to maintain serviceability. Any equipment that requires servicing or repair will be reported to the PTI and raise service request with PTI support via the Base Services Support Centre (BSSC)
ABOUT YOU:
- Suitability for Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship mandatory)
- Minimum one (1) years experience in gym attendant role (preferred)
- Fit active and energetic
- Pleasant out-going personality and positive attitude with customer service experience
- Current Resuscitation Certificate
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Certificate III Fitness required
