About the Role

As a Junior Biomedical Engineer you will assist in the maintenance testing and commissioning of medical equipment to ensure it is safe and fully operational. Youll work closely with clinical staff to support frontline healthcare delivery through timely technical support and problem-solving. This role offers hands-on experience across a wide range of devices with opportunities for ongoing learning and professional development.
Classifications for this position will range from RX1 - RX7 ($63674.00 - $91785.20).
Your Contribution
Degree in Biomedical Engineering or an Applied Science relating to physical sciences or an equivalent technical discipline
A sound understanding and application of Australian Standards as they relate to medical equipment.

This role will provide technical and operational support for the Biomedical Engineering Department across all areas of St Vincents Hospital Melbourne. This includes support for testing reparing and maintenance of medical equipment to support all areas at the hospital.

The Grade 1 Biomedical Engineer will perform acceptance testing repair and maintenance of medical equipment as per AS3551: Management Programs for Medical Devices under supervision and independently where competence has been displayed. The technician will act as front line support in a diverse range of medical equipment to ensure continuity of service.
The Grade 1 Biomedical Engineer may be asked to assist with TGA recalls projects and other matters from time to time.
The technician will be responsible for ensuring all preventative maintenance within their designated areas is complete in a timely manner.
