About the role
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in peoples lives and thrive in a supportive client-focused environment Relationships Australia Queensland (RAQ) is seeking a dedicated Telephone Information and Referral Operator to join our team in a full-time permanent capacity at our Eight Mile Plains venue.
In this pivotal frontline role you will be the first point of contact for clients providing compassionate high-quality information and booking appointments for RAQs services or referring individuals to appropriate external providers. Youll play a vital part in supporting people navigating challenging circumstances using your excellent communication skills to assess needs offer guidance and ensure every client receives responsive respectful service in line with RAQs values and commitment to the community.
Additionally you will:
Provide responsive and empathetic support to clients assessing their needs and making appropriate referrals or bookings.
Manage a central booking system for face-to-face and telephone counselling appointments.
Respond to crisis calls linking or referring callers to the appropriate counsellor or partner service.
Offer clear information about RAQ services and relevant community resources both verbally and in written materials.
Maintain accurate client records case notes and statistical data in line with organisational policies.
Contribute to ongoing service improvement by participating in professional development and supporting the training of colleagues.
About you

Your ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently adapt to change and work collaboratively with a diverse team will enable you to support clients effectively and contribute positively to Relationships Australia Queenslands goals.
Additionally you have:
Previous experience in customer service or a similar client-facing role.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Competence in using computer systems including Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
Excellent time management and organisational abilities.
A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
Knowledge of community services or experience working within the community sector (highly desirable).
