About the Role

As a Credit & Underwriting Analyst at Parafin youll help shape how we assess monitor and extend credit across our suite of financial products. You will work closely with our Risk Product Data and Finance teams to develop and iterate on underwriting strategies that balance smart credit decisions with access and flexibility for small businesses. This is a highly cross-functional analytical role that sits at the heart of Parafins mission.

Youll influence how we underwrite new credit products evaluate risk signals and refine policies to scale responsibly while keeping small business needs front and center.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Conduct deep-dive analysis into credit performance and loss trends to inform underwriting policies and own the process of financial review on large merchants

  • Support the launch of new products by designing scalable compliant credit operations and infrastructure

  • Drive KPI development to monitor the health of our credit book and operational effectiveness

  • Work with compliance and legal teams to ensure our underwriting practices meet partner and regulatory requirements

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to enhance tooling and workflows for credit decisioning

  • Support diligence efforts for partners auditors and regulators as needed

What Were Searching For

  • 4 years of experience in underwriting credit risk analytics or related roles in fintech B2B lending or cards

  • Comfort underwriting small businesses

  • Strong analytical and technical skills: proficiency in SQL and fluency in financial statement analysis

  • Experience making decisions with imperfect data and building structure in ambiguity

  • Familiarity with credit modeling loss forecasting or portfolio risk management is a plus

  • Excellent cross-functional communication; able to translate data insights into business strategy

  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous and fast-paced environments

  • Thoughtful problem solver who can balance risk management with customer and business needs

We Prefer If You Have

  • Experience in a high-growth fintech or credit card startup

  • Familiarity with revenue-based financing or embedded lending products

  • Prior exposure to vendor evaluation fraud risk or KYC/AML compliance

  • A track record of shipping new underwriting systems or policies in collaboration with technical teams
