We are currently looking for a School Psychologist to conduct cognitive/psychological evaluations on an as-needed basis. This evaluation-based role supports our multidisciplinary team in ensuring compliance with IDEA and Rhode Island state regulations while helping to inform appropriate educational programming for students with diverse learning and developmental needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational assessments to determine student eligibility for special education services.
- Review records collaborate with school teams and complete classroom observations as part of the evaluation process.
- Interpret evaluation data and write clear legally defensible and informative evaluation reports.
- Participate in eligibility and team meetings to present findings and support IEP development as needed.
- Maintain compliance with federal state and school policies regarding timelines procedures and documentation.
- Communicate professionally and collaboratively with educators service providers administrators and families.
Qualifications / Requirements:- Valid School Psychologist certification in Rhode Island (or eligibility to obtain).
- Masters or Specialist-level degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Strong knowledge of IDEA evaluation procedures and special education eligibility criteria.
- Demonstrated expertise in administering scoring and interpreting a variety of standardized assessments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in special education settings particularly with students with developmental disabilities autism spectrum disorder or emotional/behavioral challenges is preferred.
