Job Description

JOB GOAL: Build educator capacity so all RISE students make adequate or ambitious progress in behavioral social communication and academic areas based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. The coach supports all educators in maintaining program fidelity student safety and academic and behavioral progress with individualized education plans (IEPs) while fostering a culture of collaboration equity and inclusion. The coach functions as a colleague is not part of school administration and does not participate in any way in the evaluation of teacher performance. Professional DevelopmentProvide teachers with clear and specific information on how to implement a range of effective instructional strategies including district initiatives and models of instructionProvide professional learning opportunities for instructional and behavioral improvements during coaching cycles Support teachers in implementing strategies for working with all studentsDesign facilitate and lead professional development as necessaryAttend training conferences workshops meetings at the school district and/or other level (e.g. grant requirements) as applicableCurriculum and InstructionCoach/mentor teachers and paraprofessionals in all aspects of differentiated instruction including use of student assessments to group students management of effective whole and small group instruction and individual activities to meet specific student needsAssist teachers in analyzing instructional data to determine effectiveness and use that information to further drive instructionCoordinate with general education staff to plan meaningful inclusion opportunities for RISE differentiation and curriculum alignment in RISE classrooms using principles of ABA and evidence-based student readiness and plan for equitable access to specials lunch/recess and school-wide eventsSupport teachers in development of student success behavior and safety plans in collaboration with the BCBA. Mentoring/CoachingMeet regularly with the Teaching and Learning Team building administration BCBA related service providers teachers and others to assess the progress and effectiveness of teachers instructional and behavioral practicesCreate an atmosphere of trust and collaboration among staff to promote professional growth and accelerate the achievement of all studentsHelp teachers meet the goals for student progress set by the district building administration and the faculty as a a substantial portion of the day working with teachers in classrooms modeling co-teach and observing teaching and learning. Meet 1:1 and in Common Planning Time with teachers to co-plan lessons and co-analyze student academic and behavioral progress. Support facilitation of data meetings and support teachers in analyzing and reviewing data and making data based action plans. Be proficient with and support teacher use of program-wide data systems for tracking student academic and behavioral data progress monitoring incident reporting and service delivery. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year: Consistent with Randolph Education Association (REA) Teachers contract plus five additional daysSALARY: Consistent with REA salary schedule. Includes $3600 curriculum coach stipend for work outside of the contractual hours and additional five days annually paid at per diem rate. Additional days required will be determined in advance by Assistant Superintendent and Principal in consultation with one another.
