Job Description
Local Respiratory Therapist/ICU Contract Role
Location: Coudersport PA 16915
Shift: 03:00 PM - 03:00 AM
Duration: 12-weeks contract
Weekly Pay: $1152 $1332
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess monitor and treat patients with complex respiratory conditions including those requiring mechanical ventilation.
- Perform ventilator management airway care and weaning protocols.
- Consult and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team on treatment strategies.
- Provide advanced respiratory therapy modalities such as bronchodilator therapy aerosol treatments chest physiotherapy and oxygen therapy.
- Respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies and assist with intubations and codes.
- Perform diagnostic tests and procedures including arterial blood gases (ABGs) pulmonary function tests and bedside spirometry.
- Accurately document all therapy provided and patient responses in the electronic medical record.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory disease management treatments and therapies.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
- Maintain equipment in proper working condition perform calibrations and report malfunctions.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with current NBRC certification.
- Pennsylvania state license as a Respiratory Therapist (active and in good standing).
- BLS certification (required).
- Minimum 1 year of critical care or ICU respiratory therapy experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
