Job Description

Radiology/CT Scan Permanent Role

Location: Cedar Park TX 78613
Shift: Variable 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 10 per week
Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Functions:
  • Perform high-quality multimodality procedures in a timely and accurate manner according to exam protocols.
  • Utilize AIDET communication to identify patient service needs verify correct exams and build rapport.
  • Explain procedures to patients and families addressing concerns and assessing patient tolerance for exams.
  • Prepare patients and exam areas including positioning immobilization and equipment adjustments.
  • Maintain safety standards infection control and radiation safety protocols including proper sterile techniques during invasive procedures.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas for quality cleanliness and readiness; report issues to management.
  • Screen all individuals entering the department per approved protocols to ensure safety.
  • Maintain and verify documentation (e.g. requisitions patient history consent forms shielding precautions).
  • Maintain imaging records in a timely and compliant manner for interpretation.
  • Monitor supplies and assist with inventory as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and physicists to ensure equipment is functioning optimally.

  • Ability to administer first aid and use emergency equipment appropriately.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Maintains current knowledge and education for care of all age groups including newborn pediatric young adult adult and geriatric populations.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program

Experience:

  • Less than 1 year of experience required (new graduates encouraged to apply)

Certifications/Licensure:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
  • Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) by the State of Texas (unless MRI/Ultrasound only role)
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in two imaging modalities with at least 50% of work in the second modality. Approved certifications include:
    • ARRT-R (Radiography)
    • ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography)
    • ARRT-MR (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
    • ARRT-N (Nuclear Medicine)
    • ARRT-M (Mammography)
    • ARRT-S (Sonography)
    • ARRT-VI (Interventional Radiology)
    • Other ARRT or RDMS modalities listed in policy
