Job Description

RN Emergency Department Permanent Role

Location: Waxahachie TX 75165
Shift: 12 HR Nights 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Functions:
  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
  • Develop implement and evaluate individualized care plans; adjust interventions as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families maintaining professionalism and empathy.
  • Provide education to patients families nursing staff and community members promoting informed healthcare choices.
  • Assess and document patient and family learning needs regularly modifying education plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and the broader care team to coordinate patient care effectively.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and follow up to ensure safe and effective completion.
  • Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving strategies to address patient family and staff concerns.
  • Prioritize patient safety effectiveness and efficiency in all aspects of care delivery.
  • Actively contribute to teamwork and professional development supporting the growth of peers.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to community service and uphold nursing ethics and patient privacy standards.
Key Success Factors:
  • Strong knowledge of nursing principles standards of patient care and relevant procedures.
  • Understanding of federal and state nursing laws rules and guidelines.
  • Familiarity with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology disease prevention management common medications and their side effects.
  • Adherence to professional nursing ethics and respect for patient privacy rights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients families and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office electronic medical documentation scheduling and secure email.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas
  • BLS certification required (or must obtain within 30 days of hire)
