Job Description

RN/Intensive Care Unit Permanent Role

Location: McKinney TX 75071
Shift: 12 HR Nights 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Compensation: Based on experience

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with complex acute and critical conditions.
  • Monitor and interpret vital signs laboratory results and other critical data to detect changes in patient status.
  • Respond rapidly to emergency situations using critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate with physicians advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated high-quality patient care.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions.
  • Educate patients and families on disease processes treatment options and post-discharge care requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Uphold hospital policies nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and patient safety protocols.
  • Support hospital initiatives and participate in quality improvement activities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN)
  • Current Texas RN license required
  • BLS certification required (or obtained within 30 days of hire)
  • ACLS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years ICU RN experience required
Skills & Competencies:
  • Deep knowledge of professional nursing and critical care standards
  • Strong understanding of local nursing laws rules and guidelines
  • Familiarity with hospital policies and ICU procedures
  • Proficient in medical terminology disease prevention and management of common medications and side effects
  • High ethical standards and respect for patient confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills to work with diverse patients families and staff
  • Advanced problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office EMR systems scheduling/payroll systems and secure email
