Overview
The position of OPD Ophthalmologist (MS DOMS) is a vital role within the healthcare system in Ambala Haryana. This specialist contributes to the diagnosis treatment and ongoing care of patients with visual impairments and ocular diseases. As an Ophthalmologist in an Outpatient Department (OPD) you will work closely with patients to perform comprehensive eye examinations interpret diagnostic tests and determine the best course of treatment whether surgical or non-surgical. Your expertise will enhance patient outcomes and quality of life through advanced eye care.
In addition to clinical responsibilities this role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient management. This position not only requires medical expertise but also strong interpersonal skills to establish trust and rapport with patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assessments.

  • Perform corrective surgeries and procedures when necessary.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
  • Educate patients on eye health and preventive care practices.

  • Collaborate with optometrists and healthcare professionals for integrated care.
  • Document accurate patient medical records and treatment outcomes.
  • Participate in case discussions and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends and advancements in ophthalmology.
  • Contribute to departmental goals and patient care optimization.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior medical staff.
  • Ensure adherence to legal regulations and healthcare policies.
  • Manage patient referrals to specialists when necessary.
Required Qualifications
  • Medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized institution.
  • Postgraduate degree in ophthalmology (MS DOMS).
  • Licensure to practice medicine in Haryana.
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in ophthalmology.
  • Strong understanding of ocular anatomy and physiology.
  • Proficient in diagnostic imaging and treatments related to ophthalmology.
  • Experience in surgical procedures pertinent to eye care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced demanding environment.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice.
  • Active involvement in continued education and professional development.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of medical software and electronic health records (EHR).
