Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Teacher
Position: Full-Time Part-Time
The Grove Childcare Center provides a nurturing environment for children to grow and learn in a Nature-Based and STEM focused childcare learning center. Our team is passionate about fostering curiosity creativity and a love for learning in every child. We believe in building strong relationships with families and the community and were looking for dedicated Assistant Teachers to join our team!
Position Overview: The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in developing and implementing educational programs and activities that foster childrens development. This role involves assisting in creating a safe and supportive learning environment preparing teaching materials and ensuring the well-being and safety of all children. Assistant Teachers must adhere to the educational and certification requirements of the State of Wisconsin.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in supervising children throughout the day ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of educational activities under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.
- Prepare and organize materials and classroom spaces for daily activities.
- Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Provide aid to children with hygiene such as toileting/diapering hygiene and eating.
- Assist with record keeping and attendance tracking.
- Assist in communicating with families about their childs day and developmental progress.
- Help maintain classroom compliance with state regulations and safety standards.
Required Qualifications:
Must meet the Wisconsin DCF 251.053(f) Assistant Teacher qualifications including but limited to:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering their development.
- Successful completion of a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a childcare setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
