Job Description
AECOM is currently seeking Senior Engineering Geologist candidates to support Geo-Civil projects from our Orange California office.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Maintaining long-term relationships with clients in civil infrastructure and mining by providing technical expertise attending client and project meetings managing client expectations and supporting business development pursuits.
Planning budgeting and executing surface and subsurface field geologic and geotechnical exploration and managing support staff required to execute investigations.
Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery. Collaborating with geotechnical and structural engineers to develop robust dam designs.
Experience preparing proposals cost estimates and schedules.
Perform geologic field reconnaissance and mapping for the identification of geologic hazards and site characterization.
Provide support on the design and installation of ground water wells and geotechnical instrumentation (VWPs inclinometers transducers etc.).
Provide interpretation of site conditions including geologic geochemical and geophysical data.
Developing geologic models for complex geologic site conditions.
Review and understanding of regulatory guidelines and industry standards necessary to conduct technical studies and carry out project design and permitting work on dams.
Performing liaison activities with regulatory agencies (local state and federal agencies) on behalf of our clients.
Support project pursuits and contribute to business development efforts in California and around the western United States.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports and documents and make high quality presentations in-person or remotely.
Mentor younger geologic staff to support their development and success.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
BSc in Geology Engineering Geology or Earth Science 8 years of relevant experience and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
California Professional Geologist (PG).
Valid US drivers License required.
Preferred Qualifications
MSc in Geology Engineering Geology or Earth Science. 2 years project management experience.
California Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG).

- Regular project site travel may be required (Up to 25%).
