Job Description
2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in reading & interpreting plans & specifications to determine basic dimensions & bridge terminology; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in position applying knowledge of bridge design construction & maintenance to complete daily assignments; valid drivers license.
-Or possess National Institute for Certification of Engineering Technologies Level I or Level II inspection certification (i.e. under National Society of Professional Engineers); valid drivers license
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

The selection process for this position will include a structured interview. Candidate responses to the interview questions will be scored and the selection will be made in accordance with the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.

All bargaining unit and exempt new hires to ODOT must serve a one year probationary period.
This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.
If this position is filled internally the wage rate will be determined in accordance with the contract.
The final applicant accepted for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to appointment to test for illegal drug use. Medical marijuana is prohibited as a valid medical explanation for a positive drug test. An applicant with a positive test result will not be offered employment per section 3719.01 & 3719.41 of Ohio revised code.
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. An individual assessment of an applicants prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.

- Operate bridge inspection equipment
- Inspect bridge & culverts and make recommendations regarding condition & rehabiliation
- Prepare & maintain records of bridge & culvert inspections & inventory
