Pre-Employment Drug Testing:
All final applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis to test for illegal drug use prior to appointments. Testing will also be performed for the presence of marijuana. An applicant with a positive test shall not be offered employment unless the applicant submits medical documentation of legally prescribed medications or a recommendation for medical marijuana.
Pre-Employment Background Investigation:
The final applicant selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. An individual assessment of an applicants prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is prohibited from hiring:
6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in laundry practices & procedures.

What Youll Do:
Plans directs and coordinates all operations of institution laundry (e.g. washing drying and repairing of clothing towels and linens)
Monitors inmates in classifying washing drying folding and checking of laundry
Inspects work in progress and in completion
Assigns work to inmates and monitors collection and return of laundry to ensure even flow of work.
Participates in evaluation of inmates assigned to laundry
Provides extensive training to assigned inmates to ensure proper operation and care of laundry equipment
Writes inmate job description for laundry operation
Oversees preventative maintenance of all machinery
Repairs and requisitioning of parts
Orders supplies
Maintains safety and sanitation within laundry
Prepares and maintains accurate records of all operations of laundry to include inmate time reports supplies used quantities of clothing laundered losses and all related functions.
Writes reports (e.g. daily work output inventory requests for laundry supplies etc.) works in clothing room or quartermaster office to monitor issuance of clothing to inmates and employees as assigned
